ABOUT US
OWCZAREK|ŁOBODA DUO is a duo of historical instruments - violin and harpsichord. It is created by Aleksandra Owczarek and Klaudia Łoboda, graduates of the Krakow Academy of Music. Krzysztof Penderecki. The ensemble focuses on baroque music, with particular emphasis on the repertoire of the second half of the 17th century. The artists successfully present compositions from all over Europe and specialize in works in the stylus fantasticus - a virtuoso and often improvised style from the middle Baroque period.
In a short time, the duo managed to charm the audience and critics by performing at home and abroad, and as part of the Fringe program, twice became part of the largest early music festival - Utrecht Early Music Festival. In 2023, at the HIF Biber International Competition in Sankt Florian (Austria), the artists received a special award from WDR 3 radio, 1st place in their category at the 3rd KraCamera International Chamber Music Competition and 1st place in the ENSEMBLE category at the 4th Stringed Instruments Competition. The duo had the opportunity to perform, among others: on the stage of WDR 3, the Young Early Music festival, as part of the Classics in Koszyki series in Warsaw. The artists constantly want to inspire new listeners with early music, entering the interiors of non-obvious spaces. The duo played at the Barakah theater, at the Altana na Planty during Wianki in Krakow, and also opened the exhibition "I don't have the strength anymore" in cooperation with All in UJ.
